My first post

OH MY GOD. Am I blogging now, too??? It's all my friend Liz's fault. I was sipping my latte innocently as we sat at the Hungarian Pastry shop (the secret fuel of Columbia University) and she said it was so easy. Fabulous cruciverbalist, needleworker, violist and cat lover, (and troublemaker), she sent me right over the edge, with her promise of ease.

So here I am. I'm in the midst of the countdown to the world premiere of my baby — I mean, my opera — Before Night Falls, next May-June in Fort Worth. There is a ferocious swirl inside my head, just the kind of stuff for a blog, right? So I imagine this'll be a lurching diary as time accelerates towards the delivery date, May 29. And then the post-partum. Oh my god.
